Precision Grounds Landscaping and Construction is located in Collingwood, Ontario. We are looking for a LEAD HAND with minimum 2 years’ experience in landscaping & hardscaping to join our team this spring. Collingwood and The Blue Mountains are a great place to live, work and play!

As a Landscape lead hand you will be assisting with a variety of tasks required to complete our landscaping jobs. JOB DUTIES:

• Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project
• Operate various tools and equipment, including: chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
• Assist in the construction of stone work, plantings, lighting & landscape features.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
• Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying
• Assist foreman with job-related tasks
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
• Comply with all company policies and regulations
• Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Willingness to work outdoors in ever changing weather conditions
• Must be able to stand, bend, or crouch/kneel repeatedly and for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks, including ability to lift 30-50lbs repeatedly throughout a work shift
• Must be able to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials. Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
• Effective communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
• Be able to learn quickly about specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
• Provide polite and compassionate client service
• Demonstrate exceptional work ethic and attention to detail
• Have a positive outlook and professional appearance

COMPENSATION:

• Pay between $22 - $28 per hour, depending on skill level
