Ghent Landscape is currently seeking motivated individuals looking to join our growing landscape construction team as a Construction Foreperson in our commercial division. Suitable team members are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis and are comfortable in the operation of various landscape construction heavy equipment. The Foreperson will be responsible for a team of 2-3 people and will report directly to the Commercial Site Supervisor.
Year round employment is available as a part of our winter maintenance team.
Salary:$25-$33/hr, dependent on experience

Responsibilities
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner
- Provide guidance to construction helpers regarding daily duties
- Communicate with client and supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
- Follow planned landscaping designs to execute commercial landscape construction projects
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment
- Properly complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
- Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- At minimum a valid G license is required with a clean driving record
- Must be willing to work 40-50 hours per week and some weekends depending on work load
- Other duties will be assigned as required
Desired Skills and Experience
- 3-5 years experience in commercial landscape construction
- 3-5 years experience operating various heavy equipment
- Prior experience in a leadership/foreman role is preferred
- Knowledge of hardscape, masonry, carpentry, excavating, grading, drainage and snow removal
- Experience using equipment such as loaders, skid steers, mini excavators, excavators and other landscape equipment
- Ability to read and follow construction drawings
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be safety conscious
- Skill to troubleshoot solutions when problems arise
- Excellent team player
- Great communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
- Must be punctual and personable
- Must obtain WHMIS and Health and Safety training
