Nursery Plant Sales Supervisor

This supervisory role involves driving sales productivity of the Nursery Plant categories, including shrubs, trees, evergreens, vines and roses. This is achieved through ordering, selling, maintaining, and merchandising our product, as well as overall department supervision. The successful candidate will be a leader who is driven, organized and have a strong guest service focus.

Accountabilities

• Leading and training the Nursery Plant Sales team in sales skills and product knowledge.
• Managing inventory of Nursery plants while minimizing scrap and shrink. 
• Merchandising and ensuring the floor presentation is meeting the corporate Standards of Excellence, including overseeing quality control and plant maintenance. 
• All paperwork associated with the Nursery Plant department. 
• Responsible for selling the complete solution while providing exceptional service to all guests. 
• Serving as a leader and role model for all employees by exemplifying and exceeding all Sheridan standards and policies. 
• Other duties when needed, as assigned by Management. 

Skills Required 

• High degree of knowledge of all Nursery Plant category product, including: shade trees, evergreens, shrubs, vines and roses, 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple demands, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Proven leadership ability. 
• Understands a Culture of Sales and the importance of Guest Service.
• Knowledge of the retail environment with an enthusiastic approach to selling.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills (written, electronic and verbal).
• Keen eye and understanding towards merchandising.

Physical demands of the job include:

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Standing up for the majority of the shift with bending and squatting at various times required.
