Summary
The Construction Lead Hand is responsible for assisting the foreperson with daily installations of landscape projects. With a strong work ethic and leadership skills, the Construction Lead Hand will work with small crews to deliver excellence in a variety of projects and apply their knowledge of construction projects to ensure the work is completed to the highest standard.
Job Characteristics

- Work closely with the foreperson on daily projects
- Run construction jobs when the foreperson is off site
- Install a variety of projects, including natural stone walkways, walls, precast, grading, excavation, and planting designs
- Effectively lead and motivate teammates
- Communicate professionally and clearly with co-workers, management, and clients
- Operate tools and equipment safely and confidently at all times
- Be flexible and improvise in a dynamic environment
- Handle high pressure situations and demonstrate strong time management skills
Qualifications
- Must have informal/formal training and experience in the field of Horticulture, Landscape Design / Construction or related field
- Must have experience in a leadership position
- 3+ years of experience in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge in landscape and construction best practices and able to interpret drawings
- Knowledgeable and experienced with a variety of power tools and equipment
- Leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead a small crew
- Able to operate a skid steer and excavator
- Strong communication skills
- Valid 'G' driver's license and a clean abstract
