FIELD GROWER
Permanent, Full-Time
Position Summary
The Field Grower is responsible for overseeing the complete production cycle for their crops. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to plant, grow, inventory and dig finished plants that meet guest expectations, and supervise and work with field crews to ensure safety, quality and productivity targets are met.
Accountabilities
- Lead your team with a positive attitude
- Oversee planning, fertility, and crop rotation
- Supervise and work with field crews on all growing activities; planting, growing, budding, weeding, harvesting, etc.
- Facilitate sales by accurate inventory maintenance, communicating.
- Research and trial new methods and growing techniques to improve quality and readiness
Skills and Requirements
- A passion for plants and continuous improvement.
- Post-secondary degree in Agriculture or similar field
- Three years’ progressive experience working with Field crops and equipment
- Solid work ethic, well organized with good record keeping skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills – ability to resolve conflicts quickly and effectively
- Proficient computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work long hours in spring and summer including evenings/weekends in outdoor environment
