Have you been wanting to run your own residential landscape construction company, but lack the resources to go out on your own? Then you should join the Grieve Home Maintenance team. We have been serving the Burlington and West Oakville area since 1988 and are looking for a Landscape Construction operating partner.

Overview:

• Operate & oversee landscape construction division
• Set targets and budgets for each season

Responsible for:

• Sales/estimates/designs
• Provide detailed estimates for clients, may include design for smaller scale projects
• Create understandable work orders with drawings for crew members
• Supervising & completing projects
• Complete high-quality landscape construction projects in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner
• This is a supervise/hands-on position and the successful candidate will be the primary individual for executing the work orders
• Hiring & training
• Purchasing

Compensation:

• Successful applicant will be given a salary with health and dental benefits
• Successful applicant will be given a percentage of the profits of the Landscape Construction division after all expenses, including a share of overhead costs

Job Description:

1. Complete quality landscape construction projects
2. Provide ongoing assistance, guidance, training, & hands-on direction to crew members
3. Oversee compliance of safety & procedural policies
4. Ensure all construction-related equipment & areas assigned are maintained
5. Liase between clients, sub-contractors, office staff, & crew members
6. Complete all documentation as required (electronically and written)
7. Ensure completion of small jobs
8. In all aspects of work participate within a culture that emphasizes safe work habits
9. In all aspects of work participate within a culture that emphasizes continued learning & growth
10. Participate in active training & self-improvement
11. Assist with snow removal operations to ensure safe, efficient & damage-free clearing of all assigned properties & provide assistance to others as needed
12. Complete additional duties as required

?Job & Skill Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience in the landscape construction field:
• Knowledge of landscape construction skills, including interlocking pavers, retaining walls, ponds, gardens, arbors, decks and fences and related safety procedures & equipment.
• Knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs, including identification, planting and maintenance requirements
• Knowledge of landscape materials (i.e. soil, mulches, stone), including use, availability, installation techniques and requirements
• Safely & efficiently operate small engines, excavation equipment, power & hand tools.
• Have ability to encourage & promote teamwork
• Ongoing participation in professional development courses
• Have good oral & written communication, job task planning & organizing
• Valid “G” driver’s license
• Ability to train and lead
• Knowledge of equipment and truck maintenance
• Estimating and sales experience
• Ability to work with budgets
• Working knowledge of computers & smart phones
