Garden Party is looking to fill one Junior Landscape Designer position for the 2021 season and beyond. You will work closely with the Owner, Horticulturist, and Operations Manager to design and draft landscape design drawings, under the direction and support of the Owner. This is a great opportunity for a student or a recent grad to build their experience and learn from a women-owned-and-operated landscaping business!
About you:
- You are passionate about native plants, pollinator gardens, ecology, and sustainability, and value incorporating these into your designs.
- You are a problem solver with attention to detail.
- You enjoy working with a dynamic team and you can communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- You are self-motivated and a self-directed worker.
Job requirements:
- Education background in Landscape Design or Landscape Architecture
- An understanding of horticulture and landscape construction as it applies to design
- Proficiency with the design/drafting program of your choice
- Ability to understand detail and concept drawings
- Proficiency with Google Drive and G Suite
Responsibilities:
- Initial design review - discussion of client goals and priorities for site
- Design concept and review with clients
- Timely edits incorporating client and Owner feedback
- Creation of final design and supporting budget sheets
- Preparation of construction designs and material takeoffs
- Applications for any necessary permits.
