Yard and Shop Attendant
Job Number: SLC - 022
The Yard and Shop Attendant is responsible for light maintenance of the shop and keeping the yard organized and functional while providing assistance to the Supervisor with specific tasks.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30AM-4PM with possible overtime
Responsibilities
- Maintain neat, orderly shop and yard, including machines, bulk materials, vehicles and tools
- Receive deliveries at shop, assist in loading/unloading as required
- Transport machines and/or parts to and from pickup or repairs
- Maintain inventory of bulk materials and supplies
- Pick up bonds and deliver bids
- Gas and fuel machines and vehicles
- Load garbage in container and keep material bins tidy
- Manage garbage and recycling schedules
- Use machinery to load trucks to dispose of waste material
- Manage parking spots for company vehicles and employee cars
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment from trailers
- Operate machines for snow removal, as needed
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in a similar role
- High School completed
- Must be able to drive and operate all machines used at Strathmore
- Experience with loading and tying down machines on trailers
- Must be able to drive and park a vehicle with a trailer on it
- A valid Quebec or Ontario driving license with a clean driving record
- Must have good organizational and problem solving skills
- Motivated, self-starter who can work well autonomously
- Knowledge of heavy equipment and cargo securement are an asset
- Must speak French or English
