About the Norval Community Association

NCA’s mandate is to foster community spirit, preserve historic values, promote beautification of

Norval, and promote the cultural heritage of Lucy Maud Montgomery (LMM) (who lived in Norval for a time).  NCA develops, implements, and instructs educational and therapeutic garden programs for children, older adults and children/people with limitations in Norval’s Children’s Garden of the Senses (the Garden) which is dedicated to LMM.  The Garden website can be visited at http://gardenofthesenses.com/

Education and therapeutic garden programs for children, older adults and children/people with limitations are ordinarily held in the Garden, a public garden in Norval.  Norval community events are planned and organized at the head office of the NCA in Norval and held at the Garden location.  The head office and the Garden are within short walking distance of each other. With the onset of Covid in 2020, we have been limited in our ability to deliver garden programs and to hold community events in the Garden.  Currently, program development (and some online delivery) is carried out at a combination of locations (Garden, head office, and at the participant’s home).
